Amy Schuler
Clinical Intern Serving
Washington State Clients

I help individuals and couples move through disconnection, anxiety, and relational patterns so they can build deeper, more authentic, and secure connections with themselves and each other.

I love this work because I genuinely love people. I find the most meaning in the moments when clients feel safe enough to be themselves fully, sometimes for the first time. Whether working with individuals or couples, I'm moved by the quiet shifts: increased self-compassion, deeper understanding, and the courage to show up more authentically in their relationships.

The clients I work with often feel:
-
Stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
-
Want a deeper, meaningful connection with themselves or their relationship, and struggle to know how to get there.
-
That something needs to change, but you are unsure how to.
-
A growing sense of disconnection in their partnership
-
Self-doubt and anxiety about who they desire to be.

What It's Like To Work With Me
My approach integrates relational and trauma-informed modalities, including attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and mindfulness and somatic awareness practices.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all method, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, understand their patterns, and support meaningful, embodied change.
My style is compassionate and relational, aiming to create a space that feels both grounding and open, where you can slow down, explore your experience, and feel supported without pressure or judgment.
I’ll provide tips and tools for skill development and self-discovery. I’ll walk alongside you with curiosity and care, offering reflections and insights while honoring your pace and inner knowing.
What sets me apart is the emphasis I place on the therapeutic relationship itself. I'm not just listening to what you're saying — I'm attuned to how you're experiencing yourself and others in real time. I honor all expressions of relationship, and I am someone who will sit with you in the complexity of your experiences while supporting meaningful, lasting change.
Why I Do This Work
My work is shaped by both my professional experience and my own deep commitment to inner work. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in the corporate world navigating complex interpersonal dynamics, high-conflict situations, and emotionally charged environments. That experience sharpened my ability to listen beneath the surface, to hear not just what is spoken, but the unmet needs, values, and deeper longings that often go unexpressed.

Alongside this, my own inner work has helped me understand the nature of spiritual and relational trauma, how performance can be tied to self-worth and belonging, and the ways anxiety, depression, and unresolved grief shape how we show up in our lives. Because of this, I don’t approach this work from a distance. I understand what it means to sit with discomfort, to face yourself honestly, and to move through meaningful change.

I experience this work not just as a profession, but as a calling — one rooted in compassion, connection, and a deep respect for each person's capacity to heal.
